Customs Warehouse Employees arrested and charged

Collector of Customs Charles Clifford has announced that two male Customs Warehouse employees were arrested on Wednesday, 5th September 2018, on suspicion of theft from the Customs Warehouse and related offences.

One employee is 48 years of age and is from the district of West Bay and the other employee is 31 years of age and is from the district of George Town. The arrests were the result of a joint Customs and Police operation.

Mr. Clifford confirmed that the two employees have been placed on required leave.

The Collector thanked the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service for their partnership and for taking the lead on this investigation.

The two men who were subsequently charged with two counts of Theft each and have been bailed to appear in court on Tuesday, 11 September.
