US Senator Visits Cayman

US Senator Thomas “Tommy” Gollott, the longest serving Senator in the state of Mississippi, and his family, recently visited Grand Cayman.

Senator Gollott’s wife – Mrs. Zelma Jackon Gollott, is a cousin to Captain Kem Jackson. The Senator and his wife were accompanied by their daughters Jennifer and Lisa.

Senator Tommy Gollott is still a serving Senator and has been for the last 52 years. He and Mrs. Gollott have been married for an amazing 63 years. His first visit to the Cayman Islands was in the early 1950’s.

The Gollott family enjoyed the visit with their Caymanian relatives and were especially thrilled to witness the launching of the Cayman Catboat “Captain D” which took place at the boat ramp at Gavin Park (Liars Tree) in West Bay.
