CAL's Kingston flights on Saturday cancelled | Norman Manley International Airport Closed until 7pm

On Friday September 8, 2017, Cayman Airways flights KX606 and KX607 between Grand Cayman and Kingston were delayed due to limited operations at Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) as a result of a lightening strike Friday afternoon causing significant equipment failure for air traffic control in Kingston.

The airspace at NMIA was closed on Saturday September 9, 2017, and Cayman Airways' Kingston flight KX600, which was scheduled to depart Grand Cayman at 7am, and KX601, which was scheduled to depart Kingston at 8:55am, were delayed while awaiting an update from NMIA. Around 11am NMIA confirmed that the airport will remain closed until at least 7pm on Saturday night, therefore Cayman Airways flights KX600 and KX601 have been cancelled.

Cayman Airways has added the following recovery flights for Sunday morning September 10, 2017 to accommodate all affected passengers:
Flight KX3600 will depart Grand Cayman at 11am and arrive in Kingston at 12pm.
Flight KX3601 will depart Kingston at 12:50pm and arrive on Grand Cayman at 1:55pm.

All affected passengers will be be automatically rolled on to the recovery flights, but passengers are asked to call Cayman Airways Reservations on 345-949-2311 or 866-759-1372 (toll free in Jamaica) to reconfirm their reservations.
