Coach flees after alleged indecent assault

International law enforcement have been called upon to assist after a sports coach left the Cayman Islands in the wake of an alleged sexual assault on a minor.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) said it received a report of an indecent assault on a “female juvenile” last Friday but while officers were in the course of taking the report, the 36 year-old Bodden Town resident left the jurisdiction.

“International law enforcement mechanisms have been alerted in the matter, and we will keep the public updated regarding developments,” an RCIPS spokesperson said.

As with cases of this nature, Cayman Weekly will not be publishing any information that may lead to the identification of the victim.
