A-list Barbados compound for $40m

A luxury Barbados compound which has reportedly hosted everyone from Prince Harry to Rihanna and Tom Cruise is for sale for around US$40 million. Elton John, Hugh Grant, Bruce Willis, Mark Wahlberg, Nicole Kidman, Rod Stewart and Sting have all visited the ultra-glam retreat.

Cove Spring House is gated on an exclusive estate with just three other properties on the west coast of the island – which would explain its appeal for privacy seeking celebs. And the villa, set on the cliffs above its own secluded beach surrounded by tropical gardens, was also used as Simon Cowell’s X-Factor judges’ house in 2010.

The property listing promises the services of 19 full-time staff, including a property manager, butlers, chefs, maids, gardeners and security. There are seven-bedroom suites spread over 20,000sq ft of living space, as well as a further three in a separate guest cottage. The master suite boasts a dressing room and a Jacuzzi, while there’s a swimming pool and Jacuzzi spa with a waterfall outside. There’s also a media room and fitness centre on site as well as a commercial grade kitchen.

“This is about as close as you can get to seeing how Hollywood royalty and actual royalty live away from the cameras,” said Rightmove’s Miles Shipside.
