For the past thirteen years the Cayman Music & Entertainment Assoc. (CMEA) has consistently hosted the Muzaic Festival weekend providing a jukebox variety of musical offerings in honor of our National Heroes being celebrated during the bank holiday weekend. In a bold move to accentuate the positive, and create an energy filled weekend of entertainment, the CMEA had successfully transformed the monotony of the bank holiday Weekend with its five events of entertainment held over the four days.

Friday's DJ Showcase was the kickoff event featuring only the top selectors in the local Dj community, and was usually held in partnership with the private sector at various panoramic venues on the island.

The Young Musicians Showcase followed closely behind, held on Saturday afternoons at the Harquail Theater, where the hall was always full of energy and well attended by the youth who came to support their peers; and hopefully the future of the Cayman music community. As the sun went down Saturday evening was the time to enjoy the sights and sounds of Heroes Salute, a showcase of solo artists and small musical combos who performed live for the always standing room only audience. This event was also possible due to a private sector partnership, and hosted at the top local venues for live entertainment on the island.

On Sunday evenings the CMEA membership along with family and friends would turn out to their Annual Award Ceremony at the Harquail Theater to celebrate the previous years musical accomplishments. Here a wide range of awards were presented, from long service awards and album of the year to the coveted Icon award reserved for a distinguished few.

Finally the highlight of the Muzaic Festival Weekend was the Live Musicians Showcase which followed the National Heroes Day Awards Ceremony in the heart of Georgetown. Here the local bands would take over the afternoons post awards entertainment and jam until the cool of the sunset.

Regrettably due to the current Covid climate on island and the potential of this weekend's events to become super spreaders, The CMEA Exec has made the timely decision to postpone this year's Muzaic events until further notice. We thank our many patrons and well-wishers for their continued support over the years and look forward to once again serving the community with music in the very near future.
