There was a big announcement at the Hotel Indigo on Thursday 30 January ad DMS, one of Cayman’s most loved and listened-to radio broadcasting companies, unveiled its new identity as Stingray Media. This transformation, coincides with the celebration of their 20th anniversary, marking a new era for the company, but with the same commitment to excellence, innovation, and connection that listeners and advertisers have come to know.

“This rebranding of Stingray Media is more than a milestone, it’s a bold step forward, reaffirming our commitment to leading media in the Cayman Islands. For two decades, we’ve built a trusted legacy, delivering outstanding content and strong connections. None of this would be possible without our incredible team. As we evolve, our listeners, advertisers, and partners can expect the same excellence and innovation, now under a name that reflects our growth and future vision,” said Don Seymour, Founder of DMS Broadcasting.

During the unveiling, a huge STINGRAY sign in big letters stood under the platform. There, Mr. Seymour spoke about how, as a child, listening to the radio had been such a big part of his life. He spoke about Radio Cayman’s ‘Kids Club’ and thanked anyone who may have been involved:  “I still have the certificate – damaged through Hurricane Ivan – Certificate Number 8,” he said. “Although my name is no longer on this company I want you to know my heart and soul is still in it,” Seyour said, as he underlined the company’s continuing commitment to Cayman culture, and community. He thanked and praised his team and welcomed them onstage.

 “Our evolution to Stingray Media represents more than a name change, it’s a reimagining of who we are and where we are headed” said Blake Rogers, General Manager at Stingray Media. “We’ve grown and evolved, and we wanted a brand that mirrors our dynamic spirit, our local roots, and our vision for the future which includes other media platforms like eCay and the BBC World Service.”
