A new art exhibition is opening on Friday 31st July that will give viewers the welcome chance to refocus on something other than the coronavirus for a while.
Art Under Lockdown is an online exhibition intended to spotlight the creativity of artists and members of the public who have turned to making art as a means of expression during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Artists and musicians are free spirits, and they don’t like restrictions, such as those brought by the COVID-19 rules. Painters of landscapes and seascapes, or photographers who like to catch the hustle of town scenes, are naturally going to feel restricted.
The opening night of a new art show at The Ritz-Carlton Art Gallery was well attended last week, a collaboration of 61 local artists featuring around 300 pieces including paintings, photographs, sculpture, mixed-media artwork and more, all celebrated under the collective theme of ‘Whimsical Cayman’.
