The latest update from the National Weather Service (NWS) shows Tropical Depression (TD) Grace is forecasted to cross the Cayman Islands on Tuesday night
The Cayman Islands could experience downpours of two to four inches of rainfall - possibly up to six inches by midweek - as tropical depression Grace shifts to more of a westerly direction and brings into closer to the local area.
The system was previously tracking west-north-west.
Tropical storm Grace was expected to pass well to the north of Cayman in the coming days but could trigger heavy rainfall and rough seas locally.
People may have noticed an increase in the numbers of mask wearers in public places this week, a sensible, abundantly cautious precautionary measure that they are taking on the advice of Public Health since Cayman moved to phase two of the reopening plan on Monday 9th August.

Everyone was dressed in beautiful rainbow colours at Seven Mile Beach, all ready for Cayman’s very first Pride parade. Several hundred were all set to make their way down to Palm Heights Hotel, where there would be more celebrations and speeches.
Participants in the upcoming Pride and CayMAS parades must be vaccinated, according to Cabinet regulations.
Parade organisers for Pride which takes place on 31 July and CayMAS which is set for 7 August are responsible for ensuring that every participant has received both doses of the COVID-19
