APPLEBY CAYMAN ARTICLED CLERK ADMITTED TO BAR

Appolina Bent has gone through the ranks of the Appleby scholarship and Articled Clerk programmes and is now admitted as a Cayman lawyer

Having completed her Articles of Clerkship at Appleby over the past 18 months, Appolina Bent was admitted to the Bar of the Cayman Islands today (Tuesday 20 March 2018), enabling her to officially practice law in the jurisdiction. Appolina has been appointed as an Associate and will be working within the Corporate Practice Group at Appleby.

Bryan Hunter, Managing Partner commented, “Appolina is another one of Appleby’s success stories, having been with us since 2012 as a scholarship student and returning in 2016 to complete her articles. On behalf of the partners, I would like to extend our congratulations to her for reaching this important milestone in her career. We look forward to continuing to work with her in the Corporate Practice Group where she will specialise in investment funds and CLOs, amongst other areas."

Appolina started as a summer intern at Appleby in July 2012 and was a recipient of the firm’s legal scholarship that same year. She then attended Keele University in UK, where she maintained a 2:1 grade point average and obtained her LLB. She later graduated with distinction from BPP University in Birmingham for her Legal Practice Course.

Appolina is a member of the Caymanian Bar Association, NextGen Cayman Islands chapter and 100+ Women in Finance.
