Police respond to Attempted Robbery at Jewellery Store on West Bay Road
Shortly before 4:00PM, Wednesday 28 May, police were dispatched to a report of an attempted robbery at a jewellery store located in the Cayman Falls Complex, on West Bay Road.
It was reported that three masked men, one armed with a metal object, approached the jewellery store and attempted to gain entry. Due to a magnetic locking system, they were unable to access the shop and fled the scene in the direction of the rear parking lot located behind the row of shops in the complex.
The suspects were all described as wearing high-visibility construction type clothing and black face coverings. The first suspect is described as of thin build, wearing a black mask, sunglasses, orange shirt, khaki pants, and gloves. The second suspect is described as of thin build, wearing a black face covering, green shirt, black pants, and gloves. The third suspect is of shorter stature and solid build, wearing a black hoodie, green vest, black pants, and gloves.
Police carried out searches in the surrounding area and conducted multiple vehicle checks in efforts to locate the suspects but to no avail.
The investigation is ongoing and enquiries continue today into the matter. If anyone has any information pertaining to his incident, in particular regarding the direction of travel of the three suspects after they fled the scene, including CCTV from the surrounding area, please contact the police on 911, or call the George Town CID on 949-4222.
"We understand that the community would have noticed heightened police activity in George Town center, and the seven mile area yesterday, as multiple units responded to two robbery incidents that occurred within a few hours of each other", says Detective Superintendent Peter Lansdown. "We want to reassure the community that police are actively investigating these incidents, and an arrest has already been made in relation to the first of the incidents, on North Church Street."

Police Respond to Armed Robbery in George Town
Just after 11:20 on Wednesday 28 May, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a commercial property located on North Church Street.
It was reported that two men armed with handguns entered the premises and fired a single shot into the ceiling of the establishment. The men made off from the location on foot, having stolen several items of jewellery. They were believed to have gone in the direction of Bodden Road off North Church Street. No injuries were reported to the police.
Police responded immediately and conducted searches in the area. A vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was traced and recovered from a nearby location and seized as evidence. Two firearms and a quantity of jewellery were recovered from this vehicle.
Enquiries have so far led to the arrest of one man at a nearby address concerning this incident, who is currently being held in custody. Searches & enquiries are ongoing, and the incident is being investigated by the police.
