The Business and Professional Women’s Association of the Cayman Islands (BPW Cayman) hosted its highly anticipated Annual High Tea Fundraiser on Saturday, June 7, at Union Bar and Grill, Camana Bay, drawing an elegant crowd in support of women’s advancement and gender equality.

A sold out event, the room was packed with women representative of all facets of Cayman’s business and professional community with some guests from abroad, as far away as Singapore.

The afternoon was marked by warm camaraderie, community spirit, and significant fundraising success — with over $5000 raised to support BPW’s ongoing initiatives including the Corinne Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund, the School Uniform Drive, the Silent Witness March, International Federation Advocacy Campaigns, and Women’s Prison Program.

A distinguished roster of guests graced the event, including:

• Her Excellency the Governor, Mrs. Jane Owen

• Hon. Member of Parliament Julie Hunter

• Hon. Member of Parliament Heather Bodden

• National Hero Ms. Francine Jackson

• Founding Member of BPW, Ms. Annie Multon

BPW Cayman President Andrea Williams delivered inspiring opening remarks, reflecting on the organization’s continued impact and its exciting plans to commemorate 50 years of service and forward-thinking action in 2026. “Next year marks a golden milestone for BPW Cayman,” said Williams, “and today is a reminder of the strength and legacy we continue to build together.”

Guests also had the honour of celebrating that legacy in person with Ms. Annie, a founding member of BPW Cayman since 1976, whose tireless efforts — including securing many of the day’s raffle and auction items — were recognized with heartfelt appreciation.

The afternoon featured:

• The pinning of Her Excellency The Governor Jane Owen, welcoming her as a Patron of the organisation

• A fashion show by Ooh Lala Boutique Cayman, spotlighting elegant and modern styles

• A refined tea service with bubbles, premium teas, scones, pastries, and finger sandwiches

• Lively raffle draws and a silent auction, with high-value items such as a CI$2,500 Figaro chain and turtle pendant from Prodigy Jewelry, a Health City Executive Health Check, and luxury spa and retail gift certificates

The event was emceed by BPW Vice-President Mahreen Nabi, who kept guests engaged with her poise and warmth, while also celebrating the achievements and impact of BPW Cayman over nearly five decades.

As the event came to a close, guests left not only with prizes and memories but with a renewed sense of commitment to empowering women and advancing equality across the Cayman Islands.
