The Caymanian Community Party (TCCP) extends its sincere thanks to the volunteers, supporters, and members of the public who continue to stand with us as we work toward forming a stable and effective new government.
Since the early hours of Thursday morning, Premier-Elect Andre Ebanks has been meeting extensively with other MPs-Elect to begin shaping the next administration. Following a formal meeting with the Governor on Thursday evening, those discussions have continued, focusing on how the coalition will function, the roles each member may take on, and how best to serve the needs of the country.
On Friday, the MPs-Elect were welcomed to the House of Parliament for a guided tour and received a brief orientation from the Parliament staff—an important step as they prepare to officially take office. On Saturday, the four West Bay MPs held a joint public meeting to update the district of West Bay on the formation of the Government and in that meeting, the name of the new administration was announced by the Premier elect Ebanks. The new administration will be called the National Coalition For Caymanians (NCFC). The name reflects the composition of the coalition: “National” for the Cayman Islands National Party, “Coalition” for the Independents who joined post election, and “Caymanians” which represents a hallmark of The Caymanian Community Party.
The Swearing-In Ceremony will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the House of Parliament whereby the elected Members will be sworn, followed by the election for Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Premier. Afterward, the Governor will conduct a separate ceremony outside the House for the swearing in of the Premier, Deputy Premier, Ministers and Members of Cabinet.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend in person or to follow the live streamed proceedings through government and media channels.
While a broad framework for the new government has been developed, Ministerial assignments and portfolio responsibilities will be finalized later this week and official announcements will follow in due course.
On Wednesday, the newly sworn-in Government will meet with the Deputy Governor and senior Civil Service leadership for introductory briefings designed to support a strong, coordinated start to the new administration.
“This is a time for focus, discipline, and collaboration,” said Premier-Elect Andre Ebanks. “We are taking care to build a government that is not only stable and effective, but also transparent—one that communicates clearly, involves the people, and earns the trust of the country. That’s what the country deserves, and that’s what we’re committed to delivering.”
