CUC PFL Under 9 boys’ action between Joanna Clarke Primary (blue and yellow) and Cayman Prep 9B.
With the anxiety and nervousness of starting a new season behind them, youngsters across the Island went into the second week of play in the CUC Primary Football League (PFL) and Girls’ Primary Football League (GPFL) brimming with confidence and anticipation.
In Group A, Cayman Prep B travelled to Joanna Clarke Primary and after finding themselves down a goal early in the game, Prep B battled back in the second half to secure a 2-1 win. Joanna Clarke’s young goalkeeper was excellent between the sticks pulling off a few very important saves to keep his team in the game.
In the Under 11 contest, a 3-3 draw was a fair result for both schools considering the exciting offensive display shown by both.
In other Group A Under 11 games, Island Primary got past Grace Christian Academy 5-1 (respect rule) and Sir John A. Cumber Primary downed Theoline L. McCoy Primary 4-0 (respect rule).
In Group B Under 9 games, Footsteps School defeated Sir John A. Cumber 9B 4-0 (respect rule), Red Bay Primary out-duelled Island Primary 9B 2-0, Prospect Primary got the win over SCM Challengers (forfeit) and Cayman Prep 9A beat First Baptist CS 4-0 (respect rule).
In the Under 11 division in Group B, Footsteps School beat Cayman International School (CIS) 11 Blue 4-0 (respect rule), Red Bay Primary downed NorthEast Schools 2-0, Prospect Primary got the better of Cayman Brac 3-0 and Cayman Prep 11A defeated First Baptist CS 5-2.
In the GPFL division in Group A, Joanna Clarke Primary beat Cayman Prep GB 5-1 (respect rule) and in Group B, NorthEast Schools got the win over Red Bay Primary 4-0 (forfeit).
Week 3 games scheduled for this Saturday, October 4 will be played at the Annex Field, Prospect Primary, Joanna Clarke Primary, St. Ignatius Catholic, Camana Bay SC, West Bay Town Hall Field, Island Primary and the Ronald Forbes Field.
