CAYMANIAN TIMES COMMITMENT TO CONTINUED OVERSEAS TERRITORIES COVERAGE
With the UK Overseas Territories coming increasingly into the spotlight on a range of British international relations policies and their own relationship with the administering power, Caymanian Times continues to broaden its coverage of these sister territories.
From Anguilla to Turks and Caicos, developments within the 16 OTs alongside policies coming out of London form an umbrella of common interest.
That is particularly noteworthy in the annual UK/Overseas Territories(UKOTA) Joint Ministerial Council(JMC), where leaders from the UK and the OTs meet to discuss and decide on a range of issues impacting the relationship…or as some officials now refer to it - “the partnership”.
Ties among the OTs are also evident from various levels of support provided to each other. Just recently Cayman again offered technical support to the Turks and Caicos Islands with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) deploying a police helicopter and flight crew to provide support in response to recent serious violent crimes in the sister British Overseas Territory.
More than just news, these are family ties.
