Assistant Director of Sports, Programmes - Department of Sports

As we celebrate International Women’s Month, I reflect on my journey as a women’s football development coach, dedicated to empowering female athletes and advancing the role of women in sports.

From my time as Assistant Coach for the Jamaican (Reggae Girls’) Women’s National Team, contributing to their journey in the Concacaf 2022 World Cup Qualifying tournament, to my role in developing various national teams, including the US Women’s National Team at different age levels, I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of women’s soccer to inspire and unite.

As Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Florida International University, and later as the Middle School Director of Athletics & Girls’ Soccer Program Director at Gulliver Preparatory School, I’ve nurtured talent, fostered excellence, and championed equality in sports. Leading teams to championships and expanding athletic programs, I’ve strived to create opportunities for young women to excel both on and off the field.

My commitment to education and mentorship, exemplified through my tenure as a faculty member at the University of Miami’s Sports Coaching Certificate Program, underscores my belief in the importance of empowering the next generation of coaches and athletes.

Through my achievements and initiatives, such as founding the Hackney Football Showcase & Symposium and implementing a Pastoral Care Program, I aim to break down barriers and provide avenues for female athletes to thrive in all aspects of their lives.

This International Women’s Month, let us continue to celebrate the achievements of women in sports, advocate for equality, and inspire the next generation of female athletes to dream big and pursue their passions with confidence and determination.
