The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its 25th annual Golf Classic on Friday 3 November.

The popular event sold out early, with 24 teams competing at North Sound Golf Club in a four-person scramble over the course of five hours.

The Health City Cayman Islands team of Rory Mohammed, Bill Edwards, Cary Marr, and John Marrs claimed first place and received prizes from Chamber members including Health City and Bell & Ross.

Second place was claimed by RSM (team 1) consisting of Andrew Jarvis, Robert Wilson, Calvin Hall, and Lennon Sweeting while Liftech’s Dale Malyk, Sandy Malyk, Dale Klimchuk, and Jeff Humphries followed closely behind in third.

Women’s Closest-to-the-Pin winners were Maria Butler and Christine Frazier of Sotheby’s Diamonds, while Seamus Tivnan of Proven Bank and Rob Wilson of RSM won the Men’s Closest to the Pin. Men’s Longest Drive went to Andrew Jarvis and Taylor Wight, while Sheena Conolly won the Women’s Longest Drive at Hole 7 and Hole 14.

The Chamber Golf Classic is a charity event, and this year donated a portion of its proceeds to Junior Achievement, along with other Chamber programmes.

“The Golf Classic is a great opportunity for the business community to come out, network, and have some fun while benefitting various local charities and non-profit programmes,” said Chamber President Nelson Dilbert. “Thank you to all the golfers who came out to make the tournament an afternoon to remember, and congratulations to Health City and all teams and raffle winners.”

The Chamber wishes to thank all the players, event sponsors and all those who provided so many wonderful prizes both for the competitions and for the raffle, helping to ensure this year’s Golf Classic was another resounding success. Thanks especially to Health City Cayman Islands, this year’s Platinum Sponsor, and Gold Sponsors RSM, Cayman National Bank, Proven Bank, Knighthead Annuity, HSM, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Ocorian, McAlpine, and Corporate Electric.
