Dwight Yorke is a former Trinidad and Tobago footballer and former head coach of the Trinidad and Tobago national team.
Nickname: ‘The Smiling Assassin’ for his joyful demeanour on the pitch, he is one of the most prolific and successful forwards in Premier League history.
Birth: Born 3 November 1971 in Canaan, Tobago.

Opportunity: Discovered as a teenager by Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor during a 1989 pre-season tour to Trinidad.
Aston Villa (1989–1998): Began his professional career as a right-winger before transitioning into a lethal centre-forward. He scored 94 goals across 273 appearances and won two English League Cups (1994, 1996).
Historic Transfer: Joined Manchester United in August 1998 for a then-club record fee of £12.6 million.
Iconic Partnership: Formed a legendary, almost telepathic strike partnership with Andy Cole. Together, they scored 53 goals during the 1998–99 season alone.
Treble: Played an integral role in Manchester United’s historic 1999 Treble win, securing the Premier League title, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League all in one season.
