How to Cope With Pandemic Anxiety: JW.ORG Offers Seven Practical Tools

Few events in modern history have harmed the emotional well-being of people around the world as the COVID-19 pandemic. The threat of contracting or transmitting a life-threatening disease, compounded by the challenges of anxiety and isolation, has had an immeasurable impact on millions, including our residents in the Cayman Islands.

To help us cope with pandemic anxiety, the official website of Jehovah’s Witnesses, jw.org, has featured specific relevant videos, articles, and experiences to assist people of all ages and backgrounds to remain calm, informed, and healthy.

One featured video is entitled Virus Outbreaks – What You Can Do, a three-minute white board animation offering families practical methods to cope emotionally and spiritually with the effects of the pandemic. With content in an unprecedented 1,027 languages, the site also addresses often-asked questions and points to the Bible’s assurance of a bright future.

Terence Parris, local spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses, says: “Since the outbreak of the pandemic, many Caymanians have experienced anxiety over the health dangers posed, necessary safety restrictions along with economic uncertainty. The material on jw.org can help us to remain calm and inspire hope based on the timeless wisdom found in the Bible.”
