It was an epic race
The 2026 Cayman Cup delivered excitement from start to finish, crowning a new Overall Champion in Valerio Lodigiani, who claimed the Sunset Jersey after a commanding 2 hours 16 minutes 21.339 seconds finish, a full 14.23 minutes faster than in the previous year’s race.
From the first lap, the race was on fire, with the breaks including Lodigiani, Victor Magalhaes, Jeremy Solomon and Denver gaining over a one-minute gap on the first. The four riders soon became three as Denver dropped in lap two, but the group stayed determined and held over two minutes to the peloton for the majority of the race. It came down to the final lap — and Lodigiani’s push from Magalhaes and Solomon left them down over a minute and a half by the finish line, a decisive attack that could not be answered and it secured the win.
Top 5 overall finishers:
1st Valerio Lodigiani — CAT 1
2nd Victor Magalhães - CAT 1
3rd Jeremy Solomon — CAT 1
4th Christopher Bodden — CAT 1
5th Liam Munn — CAT 1
