Shortly after 5:10PM on Wednesday, 21 May, a 28-year-old man from George Town was arrested on arrival at the Owen Roberts International Airport on his return to the Cayman Islands.
The man was arrested on Suspicion of Murder, concerning the death of Christopher Johnson, who was found at a commercial premises on Middle Road in George Town on 31 December, 2024.
The man has since been formally charged with Murder. He appeared before the court where he was remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to the Grand Court midday today, Friday 23 May.
According to the RCIPS on January 15, 2025, they Investigated the death of Christopher Johnson, who was found unresponsive at the rear of a commercial premises on Middle Road, George Town, on 31 December, 2024.
Evidence suggested that the victim may have been assaulted between approximately 4.30AM and 7.30AM on the day he was found, which subsequently resulted in the death of the 56 year old man of George Town.
