National Recognition Awards Nomination Period Extended
By: CIG Public Relations
The National Recognition Awards Committee has extended the nomination period for the 2026 National Recognition Awards, originally known as the National Heroes Day Awards. The new deadline is Friday, 31 October 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
The Committee hopes the extension will provide the community with additional time to recognise deserving nation builders (individuals or groups) whose vision and dedication have shaped the physical landscape of the Cayman Islands.
The 2026 National Recognition Awards will celebrate the theme “Physical Infrastructure”, honouring those who have shaped the built environment and laid the foundation for continued progress. Members of the public are invited to nominate individuals or groups from across all three Cayman Islands who have made outstanding contributions to the development of physical infrastructure, including roads, airports, ports, utilities and other foundational developments.
The awards will be presented during the National Heroes Day ceremony on Monday, 26 January 2026.
