Passport Office Encourages Preparedness

By: CIG Public Relations

The Passport and Corporate Services Office is urging the public to ensure their passports are valid and secured ahead of the hurricane season, which begins Sunday, 1 June 2025.

To prepare, the public should:

• Check their passport expiry date to ensure validity for the dates of travel,

• Check that their passport is valid according to the country’s entry requirements. For example, when travelling to the United States, the British Overseas Territories passport must be valid for at least six months after the date of intended departure from United States,

• Apply for/renew passports ahead of travel time. If applying for the issuance of a British Citizen passport, submit only coloured copies of the valid British Overseas Territories Citizen Cayman Islands passport,

• Apply for and process any necessary visas as required for their travel, and

• Make copies of passports and key documents and store them in waterproof containers in a place where they can be easily accessed during emergencies.

For more information on passport or corporate services, members of the public may contact the Passport and Corporate Services Office at 345-649-7678 or 345-943-7678, or via email, passport&corporate@gov.ky .
