Sea swims are popular at this time of year
Grand Cayman’s sea swimming calendar has gone into deep waters. Last week there was a Foster’s swim and the next one is the Harbour Sea Swim.
It is a half mile event around George Town Harbour on Monday 10 November from the Pier by Cayman Cabana, George Town. Starting at 4pm at Cayman Cabana pier and finishing at Hog Sty Bay. Check-in and body marking is from 3-3:45pm.
Individual entry cost is $50 and there are various prices for team, swim clubs. Organisers say the event is only for swimmers aged 12 years and older. Teams must be mixed gender (minimum one male or one female). Lots of prizes up for grabs, swim caps will be provided.
After that, we go into the Pirates Week period. The 45th Annual KPMG Pirates Fest Sea Swims is from Governor’s Beach on Saturday 15 November. Start times is 7:30am with check-in from 6:15am. There are distance options of 1k, 3k and 5k so it is perfect for competitive swimmers, open water athletes, triathletes and anyone looking to try something new.
