Police Arrest Male Juvenile Riding an Illegal Motorcycle Following a Collision Involving a Police Vehicle
Just before 11:20 PM on Tuesday, 4 November, a Firearm Response Unit was on patrol in the area of Windsor Park when they came upon two males who were stationary on dirt bikes. On seeing the police vehicle, the males drove off from the location, and in doing so, one of the riders collided with the FRU patrol vehicle, causing minor damage.
The officers in the unit detained the rider and seized the illegal motorcycle. Traffic and Roads Policing officers were immediately informed of the collision and dispatched to the location. The traffic officer arrested the rider, who identified himself as a juvenile on suspicion of driving without being qualified, driving without insurance, and using a vehicle without a certificate of roadworthiness.
The male juvenile was searched, and a quantity of ganja was also found in his possession. He was then further arrested on suspicion of possession of ganja and consumption of ganja. A search was conducted at his George Town home, and items believed to contain ganja were seized for forensic testing.
The male juvenile was later bailed pending further investigation.
