Police Investigate Assault Incident in George Town

Police have responded to a report of an assault that took place in the area of Camana Bay in George Town.

It was reported that a man and a woman, who appeared to be known to each other, were engaged in a physical altercation and that the man drove off in his vehicle.

Two off-duty officers who were at the location assisted the woman, who appeared to have injuries to her legs. Emergency Medical Services were dispatched and attended the location. The woman was tended to and transported to the hospital by ambulance, where she is currently being treated.

The man has since been arrested on suspicion of assault ABH, reckless and negligent act, and driving without being qualified, and the investigation into this matter is ongoing. Police are encouraging anyone with information and/or video from this incident to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
