Police investigates robbery at Harbour Walk
Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on the night of Friday, March 27, in the parking lot of Harbour Walk, off Shamrock Road.
Just before 10:00 PM, police responded to a report that a man had been robbed after leaving a local gym. The victim reported being approached by an unknown male who requested assistance with changing a car tire. After following the suspect to a secluded area of the parking lot, the suspect assaulted the victim and forcibly stole a gold chain from his neck.
The victim fled the location when a second man, who appeared to be an accomplice, approached. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and did not require immediate medical assistance.
The primary suspect is described as having brown complexion, medium height, an athletic build, and low-cut hair.
Police conducted an immediate search of the area and recovered physical evidence; however, the perpetrator remains at large.
"We are asking the public to remain vigilant, especially when walking alone late at night," says Superintendent Seales in charge of Community Policing for the RCIPS. "If a stranger asks for assistance in a secluded area, please exercise extreme caution and consider staying in well-lit, populated zones."
