Police Respond to Two-Vehicle Collision on Shamrock Road

On Wednesday, 9 September, shortly after 5:20AM, police and other emergency services responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a Honda Fit and a tractor on Shamrock Road, in the Red Bay area.

The Honda Fit sustained extensive frontal damage and the driver was transported to the hospital where he remains in stable condition with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor reported experiencing back pain and was medically assessed on the scene and refused further medical treatment.
A blood specimen was requested and retrieved from the driver of the Honda Fit, who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The collision remains under investigation by the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit.
