Police Commissioner Kurt Walton
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) has announced the return of dedicated Community Policing Officers to their respective beats across Grand Cayman. This marks the end of a temporary consolidation period in which community officers, the majority of whom were from George Town, were redirected to support core frontline services due to staffing constraints in September 2025.
As of 1 February, residents in Central George Town, Prospect and West Bay will once again see their familiar beat officers patrolling neighbourhoods, attending community activities and engaging directly with local businesses and the Bodden Town Community Policing Officers will remain and continue as normal. The RCIPS recognises that community policing is the pillar of public safety and serves as the primary link between the police and the public, focusing on proactive problem-solving and building the trust necessary to keep the islands safe. “Our community police presence provides a sense of security that goes beyond traditional patrolling,” says the Commissioner of Police. “While the temporary withdrawal was a difficult operational necessity, our recruitment efforts have now reached a stage that allows us to return these officers to the heart of our communities.”
As a reminder to the public, the list below shows our Community Police Officers and the beats they will cover.
