Rihanna’s Spotify popularity is incredible
Rihanna has become the black female artist with the most monthly listeners ever on Spotify.
The 37-year-old Barbadian has reached an incredible 100.7 million monthly listeners. This milestone marks a massive moment not only for women of colour but for women in music as a whole.
Even though billionaire Rihanna hasn’t released a full album since 2016’s ANTI, she continues to dominate the charts and playlists worldwide. Her popularity is still ahead of other current black singers like Beyoncé and Mariah Carey.
This achievement also highlights how timeless her catalogue is. Songs like ‘Work’, ‘Diamonds’, and ‘Umbrella’ remain cultural staples, timelessly blending into today’s playlists.
The singer and business mogul has even more to celebrate. She recently had her third child, a daughter, who they named Rocki Irish Mayers. With her long-time partner, rapper and entrepreneur A$AP Rocky, are also parents to sons, RZA, born in 2022, and Riot, who was born in 2023.
