Scholars International Sports Club is set to represent the Cayman Islands at the 2025 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Shield, set to take place from July 26 to August 3 in Trinidad and Tobago.
Scholars International, reigning champions of the Cayman Islands Premier League, will compete in Group D alongside Arnett Gardens FC (Jamaica), Club Franciscain (Martinique), Dublanc FC (Dominica), AC Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), and Docs United (Anguilla).
“We are extremely proud of Scholars International for earning their place among the region’s best,” said CIFA President Alfredo Whittaker. “This is not just a moment for the club, but for Cayman football as a whole. We know Scholars will compete with pride, discipline and the determination that has long defined Cayman football. They carry the hopes of our football community, and we will be cheering them on every step of the way.”
The CFU Club Shield serves as a gateway to greater regional opportunity, with the top two clubs from the tournament earning qualification to the prestigious 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup. This is a significant platform for semi-professional and amateur teams across the Caribbean to showcase their talent and elevate their club profiles.
This year marks the seventh edition of the CFU Club Shield, which brings together 24 clubs from across the region. Matches will be live-streamed on the CFU’s official YouTube channel, CFU Official, with updates and highlights available through the CFU’s social media platforms.
CIFA encourages all supporters of local football to rally behind Scholars International as they represent Cayman on the regional stage. Their participation underscores the growing strength and ambition of Cayman football, and the continued impact of CIFA’s commitment to the development of the sport at every level.
