Seven Arrested for Drug & Firearm Offences

Shortly after 8:00PM on Friday, 10 July, police had cause to stop a vehicle travelling in central George Town.

Officers searched the vehicle and its occupants, resulting in the recovery of a quantity of suspected ganja. The occupants were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and taken into police custody.

Following subsequent enquiries, officers attended a residential premises in Windsor Park to execute a search. Upon arrival, officers observed a man wanted by police in relation to an assault offence, and he was arrested.

A search of the man’s residence resulted in the recovery of a quantity of suspected cocaine and he was further arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and taken into police custody. Officers then executed an extensive search of the premises which resulted in the recovery of additional quantities of suspected ganja, drug paraphernalia, and a suspected firearm.

On Saturday, 11 July, officers executed another search under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a residential address in West Bay. During the search, officers recovered another quantity of suspected ganja. Two individuals who were present at the residence were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and taken into police custody.

All items were seized for investigative purposes and the matter remains under police investigation.

The RCIPS is aware of an inaccurate news article currently being circulated regarding this ongoing investigation and can confirm that Michael Gollab remains wanted by police.
