STATEMENT BY THE LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION ON THE RETIREMENT OF DEPUTY GOVERNOR FRANZ MANDERSON

On behalf of the Parliamentary Opposition, I extend sincere congratulations and heartfelt best wishes to Franz Manderson as he retires after an exceptional career in public service.

For decades, Mr. Manderson has served the people of the Cayman Islands with professionalism, integrity and a deep sense of duty. His leadership of the Civil Service, particularly during periods of challenge and change, has helped shape a modern and highly regarded public service.

While we may not always have shared the same perspectives on every issue, there can be no question that his dedication to serving the people of these Islands has been evident throughout his career. That dedication deserves recognition and respect.

Public service is ultimately about leaving institutions stronger than you found them. Mr. Manderson’s legacy will be reflected not only in the policies and systems he helped develop, but also in the many public servants whose careers he encouraged, guided and inspired.

As he embarks on this well-earned retirement, I thank him for his many years of service and wish him, his wife and family, good health, happiness and every success in the years ahead.

On behalf of the Opposition, I congratulate Franz Manderson on a distinguished career and thank him for his lasting contribution to the Cayman Islands.
