Stolen E-Bikes Recovered & Returned to Owners, One Arrest made
On Thursday night, 28 August, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residential complex in the Grand Harbour area of George Town. It was reported that a male was tampering with bicycles at the location. Officers attended the location and observed a male in a wooded area with a number of electric bikes believed to be stolen - partially hidden in vegetation on the property. The male, age 17, residing in George Town, was spoken to by officers and subsequently arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. The bikes were recovered by police.
Early the next day, police received a report of theft of two electronic bikes. Officers made checks and identified two of the bikes recovered the previous night, as the stolen e-bikes. They were processed and handed over to the owners.
The matter remains under investigation.
