Proceeds from the HOPE 25th Annual Talent Exposition of the Arts were donated to The Pines Retirement Home, a nonprofit organization in the Cayman Islands that provides residential, respite, and assisted living care for elderly citizens. The amount donated was CI$2,000.00.
Founder and CEO Mr. J. C. Connor believes the organization is a deserving recipient whose work makes a meaningful difference in the lives of Cayman’s senior citizens.
“Our elderly citizens laid the foundation upon which our country continues to grow,” said Mr. Connor. “As we move forward and continue to progress as a nation, we must never forget those who helped build our community. Many of our seniors are in need of support and often do not have a strong voice to advocate for them. This is the fourth time The Pines Retirement Home has been selected to receive our annual grant, and I believe their mission is one that deserves the support of the entire community.
The Pines Retirement Home’s Board of Directors and CEO, Mrs. Lynda Mitchell, said “we are truly grateful to The New Self-Help Foundation for its generosity and belief in our mission. Ours is not the easiest work by far but it is the most rewarding. The funds will be used to purchase items needed for the residents, and thanks to this foundation for its kindness and direct support of our continued efforts.
The Foundation also reflected on the lasting impact of its flagship event:
“The Talent Exposition of the Arts has always been about creating opportunities for young people to develop their talents and perform before the community. As we celebrate 25 years, we are grateful to everyone who has supported this programme and helped make it a lasting success, said Mr. Connor.”
The New Self-Help Foundation remains committed to empowering young people through the arts while giving back to organizations that strengthen and care for the Cayman Islands community.
