Two Arrested on Drug Offences and Firearm Recovered in North Side

On Sunday, 5 July, two individuals were arrested following searches carried out by RCIPS and CBC officers along Lariat Road in North Side.

At approximately 3:00PM, officers attended an address in the area to execute a search under the Firearms Act and the Misuse of Drugs Act. During the search, officers recovered quantities of suspected ganja and cocaine, along with a quantity of cash inside a residence at the address.
A man, age 33, and a woman, age 36, who were present at the residence were arrested on suspicion of drug offences and taken into police custody.

Officers then conducted an extensive search in the area, including at a nearby premises, and of several vehicles parked on and outside the premises, resulting in the recovery of separate quantities of suspected ganja and an unlicensed firearm.

The items were seized for investigative purposes, and the matter remains under police investigation.
