Nanalie Cover
The University College of the Cayman Islands is pleased to announce that the Board of Governors has appointed Ms. Nanalie Cover as the University’s Acting President and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 November 2025 through 31 January 2026.
Ms. Cover is a familiar and respected member of the UCCI community, currently serving as Vice President of Business and Operations. In this role, she has played a key part in strengthening UCCI’s operational foundations, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring that the University delivers high-quality services to students, staff, and stakeholders.
As Acting President and CEO, Ms. Cover will lead UCCI as it continues to advance its mission, strengthen academic programmes, and enhance the overall student experience. She will guide the institution through a period of transition and renewal, supporting UCCI’s commitment to being the institution of choice for further and higher education in the Cayman Islands.
Chairman of UCCI’s Board of Governors, Mr. Gilbert McLean, commented: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Nanalie Cover as Acting President and CEO of the University College of the Cayman Islands. Ms. Cover has been an integral part of the UCCI leadership team, and her appointment ensures continuity, stability, and steady progress at a pivotal time for the institution. Her knowledge of UCCI’s operations, her commitment to student success, and her dedication to public service will serve the University well as we enter this new chapter and continue our work in service to the people of the Cayman Islands.”
Ms. Cover commented: “I am deeply grateful for the confidence placed in me by the Ministry of Education and the UCCI Board of Governors to lead the administration at this pivotal time. Together, we are committed to redefining the University College of the Cayman Islands as the premier tertiary institution of our nation, one that embodies excellence, innovation, and service to our community.”
In the weeks ahead, Ms. Cover looks forward to engaging with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, listening to their perspectives and working collaboratively to further enrich life at UCCI, both inside and outside the classroom.
