After wrapping up four race rounds of an incredible 2025 season in August, Cayman’s jet ski racers have barely taken a breath. From national glory to the world stage, the momentum continues as the island’s best prepare for a string of exciting events to close out the year.
The 2025 Cayman Islands Watercraft Association (CIWA) National Tour featured more than 30 riders across five classes, competing fiercely from Lite to Pro. The top performers were James Munroe Jr. (NA Lite), Malachi Green (NA Open), Andre Massias (Novice Stock), Leroy Whittaker (Amateur Limited), and Aaron Miller (Pro Open), each finishing first in their respective divisions.
Twelve Caymanian riders went on to represent the Cayman Islands at the 2025 IJSBA World Finals in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where they showcased their talent among the best in the world – claiming multiple top-10 finishes across six different classes. Among the standout performances were Brandon Elliott (5th in Amateur Runabout Rec Lites), Dylan McLaughlin (5th in Novice Runabout Stock), James Munroe Jr (5th in Pro-Am Runabout Limited), Johnathon Ebanks (5th in Pro-Am Runabout Endurance), and Cline Glidden III (4th in Dean’s Cup Memorial Race). All secured top five finishes.
James Munroe Jr also captured a top-three podium in the Pro-Am Runabout Superstock, while Vanjae Ramgeet achieved a world title in the Pro-Am Runabout Stock.
Now, the action returns home. The North Side Racing Redline Full Throttle takes place at Old Man Bay Park on Monday, 10 November (Remembrance Day). With the tagline “Unleash the rogue within. Ride the redline. Own the water,” this event promises the usual thrills of tight, competitive racing.
Cash prizes include $9,000 for first, $3,000 for second, and $2,000 for third, alongside a Best Fish Tea Competition worth $1,000, plus live music, food, and family fun.
The excitement continues with the East End Surf Challenge in January 2026, followed by the official start of the CIWA 2026 National Tour in March.
Lilav Lee of CIWA said: “We’re expecting even more riders next season - both familiar faces returning to the water and fresh young talent joining the action for the first time.”
