Employee Terminations and/or Temporary Lay-offs amidst the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

Employers terminating or temporarily laying off workers as a result of the coronavirus pandemic must upon termination pay severance pay of one weeks’ wages, at the employee’s latest basic wage, for each completed twelve-month period of employment.

All Post Offices to Close and will Reopen 6 April 2020

In response to the Deputy Governor’s instructions to the Civil Service today (Tuesday, March 24, 2020) that all non-essential government services are to close 25 March – 5 April 2020, the Postal Service is complying with those instructions.

New Hours for Treasury GAB Counter

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak and the recent changes to Cayman’s retail banking hours of operation from, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, please note that effective Tuesday, 24 March 2020, the Treasury Cashier’s new hours will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm daily until further notice.
