Anguilla has launched a COVID-19 daily prize draw that’s running until the end of this month as part of initiatives to meet its COVID-19 vaccination target
The incentive which also includes a grand prize of a three-night stay to the neighbouring island Nevis is open to everyone who has been vaccinated.
It’s called the VAXAXA challenge - VAX for vaccine and AXA being the international aviation abbreviation for Anguilla.
A joint statement by Anguilla’s Governor, Premier and Chief Medical Officer, said the initiative followed a recent spike in cases.
Anguilla is also under pressure to use up vaccines donated by the British government which now approaching their expiry date.
Stressing that the island is still in an emergency, the Anguilla officials say in order to return to normalcy it is vital that the adult population is vaccinated.
