Aster Cayman Medcity Planned Area Development Application Gains Approval from the Central Planning Authority

On Friday, Aster Caribbean Holdings was delighted to have learned that their application for a Planned Area Development in West Bay had been approved by the Central Planning Authority, following its meeting on 12th May 2021.

Aster had submitted an application for a Planned Area Development, a master plan for Aster Cayman Medcity detailing how the 40-acre site bordered by Esterley Tibbetts Highway and Batabano Road would be used, a first stage in the planning process for a development of this scale. Aster were invited to the meeting and presented a comprehensive overview of the project, including site usage, phasing and the design principles to be adopted.

Gene Thompson, Local Project Director for Aster Cayman Medcity, commented on the CPA decision, “We are obviously pleased to hear that our application has been successful.  This confirmation covers the decision of the approval of the application. We now await the official written notice. This is an important milestone, allowing us to proceed with obtaining the necessary permissions to commence site works, but more importantly representing a move forward for our multiphase project.”

Aster confirms that it will issue a further, more comprehensive press release when official notice is received.
