The Insurance Company of the West Indies (ICWI) has opened its ninth operation, this time in Dominica.
ICWI Dominica was officially launched at a special event on Jan. 18 at The Old Mill Cultural Centre, in the capital Roseau. ICWI’s President, Paul Lalor said that he is very optimistic about the future of Dominica’s economy.
He said: “Despite the devastation caused by the passing of Hurricane Maria in 2017, the island is poised for growth and further development. ICWI is committed to being an integral part of that, not only growing our business and employing more people but also to invest, we want to be a part of the fabric of Dominica.”
Fidel Grant, Minister of Agriculture and Security, said: “Following the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, I must admit no one wanted to invest in Dominica, no businesses and even more so no insurance company. So I want to applaud the ICWI for the decision to invest itself in Dominica.”
