JACI PATRICK IS MISS SUPRANATIONAL CAYMAN ISLANDS 2024

Jaci Patrick, Miss World Cayman Islands 2019 to 2021, has been appointed the Cayman Islands’ representative for the 2024 Miss Supranational pageant in Poland this Summer.

The appointment was necessitated by the absence of a Miss World Cayman Islands pageant in 2023 which was due to the international Miss World pageant not taking place that year and held in March 2024 instead. If the local pageant had occurred, two queens would have been crowned, one each to represent the Cayman Islands at the Miss Supranational pageant and the Miss World pageant. This approach will be taken at the next instalment of the local pageant which will be held in August 2024.

The last Miss World Cayman Islands pageant was held in late September 2022 when Leanni Tibbetts was crowned Miss World Cayman Islands 2022 and Melissa Bridgemohan won the 1st Runner-up placement. Ms Bridgemohan was later appointed Miss Supranational Cayman Islands 2023 when the Miss Supranational franchise was obtained that year.

Ms Bridgemohan represented the Cayman Islands at the 2023 Miss Supranational pageant. She was the first person from the Cayman Islands to do so. After the excellent performance of Miss Bridgemohan at the Miss Supranational pageant, the Miss World Cayman Islands Organisation (“the Committee”) wanted to build upon that momentum. The Committee thought it fitting to appoint Miss Patrick as Miss Supranational Cayman Islands 2024.

Miss Patrick is no stranger to pageantry. In 2019 she won the Miss World Cayman Islands pageant and went on to represent the Cayman Islands in the Miss World pageant in London, England where she was featured centre stage during the opening dance of the live televised event. That was quite possibly one of the longest on-screen opportunities a Cayman Islands representative has had at an international pageant. Miss Patrick intends to use her prior pageant experience and the benefit of time, wisdom, and key training in the coming months to bolster her chances of winning the Miss Supranational title.

Excited about her appointment, Miss Patrick said, “I am deeply honoured to represent my country at the Miss Supranational pageant in Poland. I am beyond ecstatic to share our “Caymankind” culture and pride. This platform will allow me to continue my efforts in advocating for mental health awareness locally and internationally.”

Commenting on Miss Patrick’s appointment, Ms Pamela Ebanks-Small, Founder and Chairperson of the Miss World Cayman Islands Organisation, said, “I am very excited to appoint Jaci as the 2024 representative at the Miss Supranational pageant in Poland. Jaci comes with years of experience in the pageant world as a past Miss World Cayman and a past Chairperson of Girl Power Cayman. Jaci exemplifies elegance, grace, humility and beauty, characteristics that we feel a Miss Supranational contender needs to have. We are excited for this journey and can’t wait to see Jaci’s results in the 15th edition of Miss Supranational in July. Melissa Bridgemohan will retain her title as Miss Supranational Cayman Islands 2022 and will continue to undertake duties locally in that capacity until Miss Supranational Cayman Islands 2025 is crowned at the next instalment of the Miss World Cayman Islands pageant in August 2024.

The international Miss Supranational pageant will be held on 6 July 2024 in Poland, where it is held annually (save for being hosted by Belarus on one occasion). The pageant was launched in 2009 with Miss Ukraine being the first titleholder. Since then, Panama, Poland, Belarus, the Philippines, India (who has held the title twice), Paraguay, Korea, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Namibia, and South Africa have held the prestigious title. The current Miss Supranational 2023 is Andrea Aguilera of Ecuador.
