LIAT has appointed a new chairman of the financially strapped airline in former Barbados Prime Minister Owen Arthur as chairman.
Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne said Arthur would replace Jean Holder, who retired in December after 16 years.
Browne said that he believes that Arthur is the right person for the job, given his history of fighting for the Antigua-based airline, whose major shareholders are the governments of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada.
