Cayman sadly lost another person to Covid-related illness during the first week of May, bringing the death toll up to 28 since the start of the pandemic.

The patient was elderly and had severe co-morbidities. This death was previously reported in the daily Covid-19 updates issued by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. In addition, during the first week of May there were a total of 748 new cases of Covid-19 reported by Public Health.
