This past Sunday, Cayman’s equestrians turned out for the Cayman Island Equestrian Federation’s (CIEF) first show of the 2023-24 National Jumping Series. Held at the Equestrian Center, 34 horse and rider combinations participated in the show. Riders accumulate points while competing in the four-events Series, and at the end of the season, the horse and rider combination with the most points at each height is named the Champion for the year.
Sierra Martin was the rider of the day, winning both the 60cm and 70cm classes. She also clocked the fastest time over the twelve-obstacle course while riding Jolly Rancher.
The next CIEF horse show, National Dressage Show #3, will take place on January 7th at the Equestrian Center starting at 8:00am. As always, spectators are welcome and admission is free.
