St Kitts and Nevis is one of the most sought after cruise ship locations in the Caribbean. Despite its population being only 53,000, it enjoyed five different ships docked at the Port Zante last Thursday.
The ships were Viking Sea, Royal Clipper, Silver Spirit, Allure of The Seas, Marella Discovery. Lindsay Grant, Minister of Tourism, said the rise in cruise ship calls to St Kitts and Nevis for December and for the next three months is a strong sign of cruise lines’ trust in the destination.
In the second week of December, 21 different cruise ships called on St Kitts, bringing thousands of tourists and hundreds of job opportunities.
In the Caribbean Journal’s annual Caribbean Travel Awards, Grant was just named Caribbean Tourism Minister of the Year. She said 211 ships are scheduled for the first three months of the new year, a remarkable number considering the pandemic.
