Taekwondo Seminars move to the Brac

Due to the popularity and success of the Free Public Schools Taekwondo Program that is currently offering free weekly taekwondo classes in 7 public primary schools, the Cayman Islands Taekwondo Federation is hosting a series of taekwondo seminars for the school children in Cayman Brac, as they want to give all Caymanian children the opportunity to experience the Olympic Sport of Taekwondo.

With the assistance of the Sports Association of the Sister Islands, free taekwondo seminars for primary and high school students in Cayman Brac have been scheduled for Saturdays May 8, May 29, and June 19, 2021, which are being held at the new Multi-Purpose Building at the Cayman Brac Sports Complex.

Approximately 35 students attended the first seminar held on May 8, which were led by Master Instructor Sua Kim, CI Taekwondo Federation Coach (former South Korea Female National Team Member). The seminar was divided into smaller age-related groups so all students were given the best opportunity to learn.

Master Steve Graham, President of the CI Taekwondo Federation stated “we were very encouraged by the high level of interest and enthusiasm from both the students and parents in attending additional taekwondo classes in the future, and we look forward to the next seminars we have scheduled on May 29th and June 19th. Based on the level of interest from the parents, we are planning to add a taekwondo class for adults during the next trip.

They would like to thank the Sports Association of the Sister Islands for sponsoring the seminars, as well as the National Olympic Committee for their continued support.
