Kes the Band kicked off the Tobago Carnival

Trinidad and Tobago is celebrating 60 years of independence from Britain and its latest official party was the Tobago Carnival over the weekend.

The Kes the Band headlined the launch on Saturday of the inaugural three-day event entitled Bago Jam – Revel in Paradise. Bago Jam married all the elements of carnival with a cocktail of music, mas, steelpan and culture at Shaw Park Cultural Complex Car Park, Scarborough Tobago.

“Bago Jam is our public launch of October Carnival 2022,” said Secretary for Tourism Tashia Grace Burris.  “Coming off our hugely successful media launch, the THA felt it was necessary to ensure that the public’s appetite for the festivities remained at a fever pitch. We can imagine no better way to start it right.”

The captivating and unique styling of Kes The Band and their electrifying music took centre stage as they broke from their successful Liki Tiki World Tour. Soca superstars Iwer George and the 2021 Soca Monarch winner Farmer Nappy also performed as did Shurwayne Winchester, Adana, Zan, Kernel Roberts, Sekon Sta and Chingee.
