100 Women in Finance to host Corporate Mixology Competition for GirlForce 100

The Cayman Islands location of 100 Women in Finance (“100WF”), will host its fourth annual Corporate Mixology Competition on Thursday, 26 September at Karoo in Camana Bay.

All proceeds raised from the event will benefit GirlForce 100, a mentorship programme run by 100WF in partnership with the Cayman Islands Ministry of Education, which supports young women in the public high schools through mentoring and development of career potential.

100WF invites teams from local companies to flex their mixology muscles and compete for Best in Glass. Entry for a team of four is CI$500.00, while Individual Taster tickets are CI$50.00 each and include cocktail tasting, passed hors d'oeuvres and a vote for the best dressed bar. Raffle tickets will also be sold and are only available for purchase at the event for CI$5.00 each, or an arms' length for CI$25.00. To register a team or purchase taster tickets, please visit  https://100women.org/pages/event.php?e=2088

100WF’s Cayman philanthropic beneficiary, GirlForce 100, is the organization’s flagship mentoring programme. GirlForce 100 pairs professional women from 100WF’s membership with female Caymanian public high school students who have been selected by educators as having potential for successful careers in the financial services industry, but who lack the resources and support to achieve their full potential. The GirlForce 100 mentors provide key guidance to their mentees in three main areas which include mentoring, goal setting and life orientation.

"Fundraising events such as this have allowed our membership and others from the local community to support our organization's 2019 global philanthropic theme, 'Investing in the Next Generation', in a fun, relaxed and engaging way." said Laurie Mernett and Anne-Marie Leadbetter, Co-Chairs of the 100WF Cayman Philanthropy Committee. "Our hope for this year's theme is to establish purposeful pathways into the financial services industry for our young local women, and further support them in the early years of their careers.”

Since its launch in 2013, 100WF Cayman has raised more than US$290,000 for local charities, including the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, Literacy Is For Everyone, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Special Needs Foundation Cayman.
